The Parkinson’s journey is different for everyone. Whilst The Hospital Research Foundation Parkinson’s are here to provide quality service and support, we don’t always have all the answers or expertise – sometimes some other expert supports are needed to help with your self-management.
It is important for people living with Parkinson’s to be proactive in the management of their condition. There are a number of health professionals that can help people with Parkinson’s along the way, building a supportive health care team to assist in managing you Parkinson’s health.

At THRFG Parkinson’s, our Wellbeing Officers are responsible for providing counselling, education and wellbeing support – specialising in anxiety, trauma, stress and resilience.
Our primary goal as occupational therapists is to enable our clients to engage independently and safely in meaningful activities of daily life, from showering and dressing to shopping and social activities.
It is estimated that more than 80% of people with Parkinson’s will experience speech and swallowing changes due to changes in coordination and reduced activity of the muscles involved in speech and swallowing mechanism.
The WellBEING series focuses on bringing the best of our evidence-based practices into new activities and groups to maximise choice, independence and wellbeing.
