WellBEING Programs
The WellBEING series focuses on you, family, primary support people/carers and the community bringing the best of our evidence-based practices into a new activities and groups to maximise choice, independence and wellbeing.
WellBEING: Family
With a range of sessions and activities that include family coaching, information sessions in simple language for kids, couples coaching and relationship (family and friend) coaching to support and educate those affected by Parkinson’s and the impact it can have on relationship dynamics.
WellBEING: Carers
Carers don’t often take good enough care of themselves so pamper days will be held to ensure that carers and primary support people can focus on their physical and mental health.
WellBEING: Me
Learning different mindfulness activities on a monthly basis and how to practice them in everyday life. There will also be take-home tools to assist with practicing the techniques.
Brain Boost Café
A weekly group to concentrate on neuroplasticity and using your brain. From classic games such as chess and checkers to the use of the high-tech Obie Eyeclick there will be the opportunity to meet people, socialise and well as making sure you are encouraging new neural pathways through activities.
WellBEING: Together
Our team will visit all the metro groups to bring together up to date information and education about the 4 pillars of living well with Parkinson’s and other neurological/movement conditions being Medications, Nutrition, Exercise and Wellbeing.
WellBEING: Regional
Our team will visit regional areas throughout the year including Moonta/Pt Broughton, Clare Valley/Barossa, Port Augusta, Broken Hill, Ceduna, Darwin, Alice Springs, Mt Gambier and Kangaroo Island. These visits include community seminars, support group visits, training allied health staff, individual or family appointments.
